The topper?
well i have a question, i bought a topper for my main guy, and it says that is a katana class, but it equips in the 2h, is this weapon a heavy and slow one? i never tried to kill someone with it, not yet.
So , do you recommend it ? or i should just go for 1h katanas.Blxz wrote:It is katana class so it uses katana skill. But it is a slightly heavier weapon. A nice mix between a lighter katana and a sabre class weapon.
Not to bounce in uninvited.
But personally, I recommend that you only use toppers if you have enough men with the katanas 1h.
They're quite the hitters though.
It is one of the better heavy weapons in the game so far, I prefer ringers, katanas, and the topper in my group.

There are also two handed katanas. Which are good as well. Both two handed katana's and toppers are nice in case you get an arm chopped off you can draw a single handed katana to fight with and still use your weapon score.
Yeah, what scotterius said. Use your 2 weapon slots. Stick your bigger, more powerful weapon in the main bigger slot but you can carry a backup weapon in the smaller, secondary slot.Scotterius wrote:There are also two handed katanas. I quite like toppers but in the end you can find/buy very finely crafted katana's that are even better in damage AND lighter in weight....but that is top end equipment and hard to get. Stick with toppers for early mid game if you can get them.
pie
well i think i got the best katana in the game, it took al my moneeeh but is worth it, it oes 1.2 cutting damage.Blxz wrote:Yeah, what scotterius said. Use your 2 weapon slots. do you know if the price changes? and in what town? i need that katanaKamos wrote:Had to buy it. Damned pricey at that.
Inventory and store prices are randomly generated at the start then after that the stores randomize again after a little while.
I'm thinking it was at least 13K or more from Clownsteady when I got it, probably more. Besides that's nothing my second best guy has a Sabre that does 2.6 Cutting 0.5 Blunt though he isn't as skilled as my main.

For the time being, there's really no use in equipping lesser 1h weapons, since the 2h ones (like the topper) offer better reach and damage. Maybe if later a 2- weapon- fighting tecnique or backstabbing with short quick weapons is implemented the one handed small ones will be worth it.
Actually the best thing to do is equip your guys with 1h katanas to level up the dex, and when you got like 20 dex you equip them with 2h, so they can have damage, reach and a fast attack speed.guspav wrote:For the time being, there's really no use in equipping lesser 1h weapons, since the 2h ones (like the topper) offer better reach and damage. Also you can't use 2h weapons if one hand is broken/disabled.
